Here is what our clients have to say...

Writers who freelance for a living much know how to converse with their clients
If the instructions are not fully understood then the project cannot be completed satisfactorily. Ultimately, it could mean a failed attempt bringing frustration to all parties concerned.
The client realizes that he must rely on an experienced freelance writer to meet his project needs. The client ends up considering the writer as a failure. The professional writer ends up having the project taken away from him without receiving any pay for his efforts.
This is something the freelancer could have prevented by being more inquisitive about the instructions.
Simply follow these few steps to help you become successful at your next writing project.
Step 1
Get the client to explain to you what the needs of the project are. Is it something he wants to use as a press release, or is he going to use it as content on his website for example
How you complete the job is all going to hinge on the purpose of the finished work.
Your client’s opinion of the finished work will be driven by his expectations of it.
Step 2
You must feel comfortable knowing that the client has a clear picture of what he wants.
Review what your client is telling you thoroughly making sure he understands the writing definitions. Your client may not have a clue of the proper terms of what he needs for his project. Your client may have no idea what seo is and ask you to repeat keywords far too many times for example.
If you know from the start, what the client wants it’s going to make your job much easier.
Clients are often vague in directions because they figure you know it all. A client quite often has an overview in their mind of how the project should look when it is completed.
Sometimes customers feel lost when it comes to writing any type of articles or content.
This is why they go looking for freelance writers.
Step 3
It is disappointing when you have done your best and the client is agitated with the work.
Most often clients will not realize that the completed work is really, what they asked for.
You can make this a rare happening if you take the time in the beginning to fully recognize what your client is asking for. Get your client to explain to you what results he is looking for from the article you are producing. By getting to know your clients expectations of the work itself it will provide you guidance on how to write it to meet that goal.
Step 4
Use the first article you write to set the tone for a successful completion by sending it to the client for approval. Make sure to get the revised article approved before moving on in the project.
Do not make the mistake of changing the approach to the project or your writing style once your work has been approved.
These are not hard to follow steps and they could mean the difference of you completing a successful assignment or being fired from one. A successful completion to a project can often lead to repeat work and a happy client as well as a happy writer.
