You Can Come Out a Winner If You Fight Against the Recession

A recession has the knack of being able to take the fight out of you. There are ways that you can fight yourself out of the grips of a recession. The results of a recession can affect every family member if something is not done to fight back.

A recession can literally pull a family apart if it is not brought under control. The cost of daily living can cause stress that affects the mind, body and soul. It has the ability to take total control of a family's life.

To tackle it you can implement two major strategies. The first strategy you need to put into place is a plan of attack to meet life's necessities and the second strategy is to learn how to have no cost fun again.

Strategy 1 - What you have to have

Having a safe warm place to live and good food on the table is a must. Your living accommodations now are very unlikely to be free so you have some unavoidable costs here.

Chances are those utility bills aren't going to stop coming to the door either for your heat and hydro. No doubt a little extra income would go a long way towards supplementing your housing costs.

Consider starting an after school program for the kids of the working neighbors or perhaps looking for some online work such as freelance writing for example.

Make it a mandate to see how much you can conserve on your hydro, heat and water.
Make a game out of who has made the most efforts to conserve and save money on the utility bills.

Get everyone's ideas on how money can be saved on the food bill. You can have healthy wholesome and delicious meals and still slash the grocery bill. Turn your chore of bargain hunting into a challenge and you will be impressed with how well you do.

Look at food sales for the week, get out the cook books and start planning your weekly menu.  Utilize the sales for a two week period. In other words if roasts are on sale, then buy one for this week and one for next. If you consistently do this then your entire freezer will be stocked with food sales.

Strategy 2 - You Can Make the Good Times

A recession has the ability to adversely affect even the closest of families. The first strategy to be up and running and working is imperative to the success of the 2nd strategy.

.Now its time to let the good times roll.  Most often when the kids are happy then the parents are too. By putting some fun back into the family atmosphere it's a win-win situation.

Here are some pointers to get you thinking how you can have some fun for almost no cost.

It would take nothing to put a mini golf course in your backyard. Make it a family event to build it so the family can enjoy it. Allowing the kids to be creative and part of the planning is half the fun.  Any age child can play mini golf so it makes it a great entertainment venue suitable for the whole family.

Plan a murder mystery weekend. Kids love intrigue and mystery and being able to show how clever they are at solving it. It's the perfect setting for a "who done it" weekend
Designate one person to plan the plot and create the characters. Then assign them. Don't forget about the props though. Look around junk stores for cheap items.  Base the menu on the time era of the plot.

Its time out for Mom and Dad.

See if you can do a baby sitting exchange. Perhaps there is a senior in the area that would take the kids for a weekend in exchange for some housecleaning.

What we have given you here are just a few suggestions. Now it's up to you to beat this recession with some innovative thinking.
